In 2002, after writing the first verse and chorus to my very first Bluegrass work, another unique idea came to mind. With the new Bluegrass piece contributing to a new collection in my song catalog, the unique idea had been this: each genre needs to have its very own motto, and it should be a motto that would represent that particular genre of music. I liked the idea a great deal because it was unique, distinctive. And so I went with it.The mottos would be slogans that would individually define the meaning of each genre in the catalog. For example, the Bluegrass collection would feature the motto "These Fast Pickins Ain't Slim," while the R&B collection's motto would be, "Passionately Romantic and Sensual," etc.The aforementioned examples are only two representations of the Cat Ellington Genre Slogan, integrated into my body of musical work in August of 2002.
