'The Golden Goose' Genre: Satirical

Meet The Woman Who Has Great Possessions.

I Can Do No Wrong. No Wrong At All.
And Several Of Those Around Me Are At My Every Beck And Call.

Whatever I Say Or Do - Even If False And Untrue - They All Love It.
They All Love It, Because They All Covet.

At Every One Of My Stale Jokes, They All Laugh,
Because They All Covet What They Do Not Have.

Seeking Favoritism, They All Compete To Tickle My Ears -
Eagerly Speaking To Me Only What I Desire To Hear.

These Are Of A Loathsome, Miserable Lot,
Who Want What I've Got.
And Who Claw At One Another,
Jockeying For A Spot.

Surely, Their Flatteries To My Face Will Eventually Give Way,
To Hearts Long Filled With Bitter Envy And Hate.

But Unless There Shall Befall Me Extreme Economic Plight,
I Will Continue To 'Shine,' Within Their Ravenous Eyes,
Radiantly 'Bright.'

Meet The Woman Who Has Great Possessions.
