'A Test of Character' Genre: Prose

Have I Not Been Distressed
As I Trek Through This Wilderness?

Nevertheless, To Thy Command To Rebuke,
I Have Not Been Mute.
Neither Have I Allowed Refute.

How I Endure The 'Cold.'
And With Each Passing Hour,
I Become A New Day Old.

Nevertheless, To Thy Command To Rebuke,
I Have Not Been Mute.
Neither Have I Allowed Refute.

Though I Pass Through Rough Terrain,
I Continuously Glorify Your Holy Name.
And Though The 'Waters' Be Choppy,
I Have Not Permitted 'Them' To Stop Me.

Nevertheless, To Thy Command To Rebuke,
I Have Not Been Mute.
Neither Have I Allowed Refute.

See, I Have Been Defamed And Evicted,
Blamed And Afflicted,
And Approached With Fierce Opposition,
As I Strive To Carry Out Your Mission.

Nevertheless, To Thy Command To Rebuke,
I Have Not Been Mute.
Neither Have I Allowed Refute.

Have I Not Been Distressed
As I Trek Through This Wilderness?
