'The Longsuffering' Genre: Narrative

Despite Her Maniacal History,
And Her Inability To Form An Affinity,
I Still Love My City . . .
The City Of Chicago.

Despite Her Second-Class Mentality,
And Her Segregation Of Citizenry,
I Still Love My City . . .
The City Of Chicago.

For She Is A City Indisputable . . .
Even The Only One I Know
Who Can Have Both Eyes Blackened,
And Still Be Beautiful.

She Is Chicago. . .
A City Indisputable. . .
Even The Only One I Know
Who Can Have A Busted Lip,
With A Bloodied Nose,
And Still Be Beautiful.

So Despite Her Corruptibility,
And Her Neglect Of Poverty,
I Still Love My City . . .
The City Of Chicago.
